Jo Kingston

Jo first qualified as a Physiotherapist at Kings College, London over 20 years ago. Having gained many years hospital based experience, she decided to set up her private practice in 1996. Jo has a special interest in the treatment and management of back pain and has continued to add to her skill-set by undertaking an MSc in Orthopaedic Medicine as well as Post-graduate Sports Medicine qualifications.

She has undertaken significant training in Manipulation, Injection Therapy, Sports Massage, Acupuncture and Pilates.

Herself a keen sportswoman, Jo has worked with International Athletes for many years. She maintains her interest in sport and is a Ski Instructor, Yachtmaster and keen golfer.

Jo heads a team of highly experienced Physiotherapists who have all gained a wealth of experience within the demanding NHS evidence based world and have a specialised interest in Musculo-Skeletal Medicine. Jo has aspired for JK Physio to be a specialist centre for the treatment of sports injuries which has been her expertise.

Sonia Ahmed

BSc (Hons) MCSP

sonia 150x150Sonia graduated in 2009 as a Chartered Physiotherapist from St Georges University Hospital in Tooting. She has since qualified in Acupuncture and has gained membership to the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists). She has also qualified in Pilates with the highly regarded Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). Originally Australian but living in the UK for many years and married with 2 young children. As well as her clinics at Orpington she is the lead Physiotherapist in our Pilates Classes and 1 to 1 sessions.

Sam Downer

BSc (Hons) MCSP

Sam qualified in 2010 and has since qualified in Acupuncture and has gained membership to the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists). He is currently studing an MSc in Sports Physiotherapy and Exercise Medicine, and is himself a keen sportsman (particularly cricket). His special interest is shoulders, and is a great addition to the team.

Charmaine Lee

150x150 Charmaine LeeOriginally from Australia, Charmaine is fully qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist and has a keen interest in hand and elbow (BAHT) and neck along with connections to headaches, and migraines.
Since working at JK Physio she has worked alongside the Podiatrists located in the same clinic and which has also led to her developing an interest in the foot.
In addition to her Physiotherapy training Charmaine has also trained in acupuncture, sports massage, BAHTs hand therapy and aquatherapy.
Outside of the clinic, Charmaine has been visiting local dementia nursing home for over 4 years, where she treats clients with a variety of needs. She also treats several members of local running club and occasionally provides aquatherapy to private community patients at local swimming pools.

Nick Hill

BSc (Hons) MCSP

Nick Hill Nick qualified from University of Coventry with a 1st class honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2012 and is currently undertaking a Master’s Degree at University of Brighton.
He spent 3 years working at Crystal Palace Football Academy as he has a special interest in football related injuries.
He has specialist training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of dizziness and is a member of the ACPIVR (Assoc. of Physiotherapists with an interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation).
Nick is a very keen sportsman and enjoys a range of sports including football, golf, tennis, boxing and going to the gym.

Lorna Malcolm BSc

BSc (Hons) MCSP

Since starting in the fitness industry in 1985, Lorna has been teaching regular weekly classes, including teaching Pilates for last 15 years.
She has trained instructors globally, presented at top national and many international conventions, contributed to magazine and newspaper articles, as well as written 4 fitness books.
She qualified as a physiotherapist in 2008 and a Sports Massage Therapist in 2006.
Lorna combines all her skills and expertise when treating and teaching clients to promote pain-free life long movement.

Mikesh Patel

BSc (Hons) MCSP

Mikesh has gained broad clinical experience with patients varying from persistent pain to end stage rehabilitation and has also established a keen interest in assessment and management of the knee, particularly sports related knee injuries. He has a personal interest in sports, specifically football and rugby and constructs sports specific rehabilitation programmes that yielded positive results, for example successfully returning a patient to playing football post ACL reconstruction.

Additionally, he currently works alongside Gillingham Ladies FC and Kent Ladies FC as their first team physiotherapist. This has provided him with exposure to acute sports injuries and subsequent management.

Francis Perez

Qualified Sports and Deep Tissue Masseur

Francis 150x150Francis is our Sports Massage Therapist.
He has worked in the Health and Sports Industry for 20 years and has vast experience working with sports specific injuries from amateur to professional levels.

Jodie Smith

BSc (Hons) MCSP

Jodie has a very strong interest in sports physiotherapy. As a massive rugby fan, he has dedicated much of his time to working as a Physiotherapist for rugby teams both in the UK and New Zealand. Jodie fully understands how using his knowledge of sports injuries can also benefit work related injuries, as these are often caused by poor posture or repetitive wear and tear. He also treats many patients that have suffered workplace injuries such as twists and falls.

His treatment style is very much based around his patients’ individual lifestyles, thereby creating individualised treatment plans to ensure a full recovery.
Jodie is currently on a sabbatical and is not available for appointments at the Clinic.
